WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY FOR ONLINE WINTER LIFT TICKETS?
Full payment is required at the time of booking. Online tickets are fully refundable and changeable up to 14 days from product date. Within 14 days of the product date, tickets are non-refundable and non-changeable. Online tickets are non-transferable and valid only on product dates purchased. Insurance may be purchased on this product. Purchased insurance terms will then apply.

WHAT IS THE DEPOSIT AND CANCELLATION POLICY FOR ACTIVITY AND EVENT TICKET PRODUCTS?

Full payment will be taken at the time of booking for any activity products such as event tickets, ski school, adventure, rentals, etc. You will be able to cancel these with a full refund outside of 3 days to your arrival date. Within 3 days of your arrival date, these products are non-refundable should you need to cancel or change. Unless otherwise noted on the product information.

What is the Cancellation Policy for lodging booked through Snowshoe?


4 Bedrooms & Larger:
Cancellations made more than 60 days prior to the arrival date will receive a full refund (minus the cost of trip insurance). Cancellations made within 30-60 days prior to your arrival date will forfeit their 50% deposit. At 30 days of the arrival date any remaining balance owed will be charged to the credit card on file. No refunds or changes will be available after this date. Additional nights can be added to your reservation based on availability.
3 Bedrooms & Smaller: For units with travel insurance, cancellations made at least 15 days prior to the arrival date will receive a full refund. If you did not purchase insurance, you will be charged a $100 cancellation fee or your deposit (whichever is less). All refunds are less the cost of travel insurance (if purchased).
At 14 days of your arrival date, any remaining balance owed will be charged to the credit card on file. No cancellations, refunds, or changes will be available after this date. Additional nights can be added to your stay based on availability.

What is the Deposit Policy for lodging booked through Snowshoe?


4 Bedrooms & Larger:
The deposit due at the time of booking equals 50% of the total lodging stay plus optional travel insurance. The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to arrival. If you book within 30 days of arrival the full amount will be required at the time of booking.
Rental agreements are required for 4-Bedroom or Larger reservations. You will receive a call from a trip planner in order to confirm the booking details and discuss any group or age restrictions for the property. Once you receive your rental agreement, you must return it within 7 days or the reservation will be canceled.
3 Bedrooms & Smaller: The deposit due at the time of booking equals 50% of the total lodging stay plus optional travel insurance. The remaining balance will be charged 14 days prior to your arrival date.

What housekeeping services are available?
As you are aware, each of our vacation properties are individually owned. Your condo, townhome, or free standing mountain home is made ready for your arrival and includes clean linens, towels, kitchen supplies, and a starter supply of shower gel, shampoo, and paper products. The departure clean fee is included in your reservation total. As part of our commitment to protecting the environment, additional housekeeping services are available upon request for the fee schedule outlined below. Should you request additional services, the charges will be added to your guest account and paid upon departure. Two levels of service are offered for purchase: a basic Towel & Trash Service or a Full Maid Service. Either of these services must be requested/scheduled at the time of your check-in.


What does the Towel & Trash Service include?
Towel & Trash Service: This basic service includes the removal of trash from your room and replenishing of towels and wash cloths. The number of new towels and wash cloths provided will be equal to the maximum number of people your unit can sleep.


What does the Full Maid Service include?

This more comprehensive service includes the restocking of supplies, vacuuming, making beds, loading and starting the dishwasher, and tidying the premises in addition to the basic towel and trash service. Should you request the changing of bed linens, an additional $12 per bed will be added to the fee outlined below.

What is the Ikon Pass?

WHAT DO I DO AFTER I PURCHASE MY IKON PASS?
After you purchase, you will receive a confirmation email detailing your purchase. If you do not receive this email or don’t see the purchase go through on your credit card, please check your Junk/Spam folder. If the confirmation email still is not found, email us at info@ikonpass.com.

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY IKON PASS?
Your Ikon Pass will be mailed to you in the Fall, prior to the start of the winter season, assuming you have signed the release of liability and uploaded your photo that meets the requirements. You can do this at ikonpass.com

Can I purchase the Ikon Pass in person at Snowshoe?
Ikon Passes can be purchased in person at Alterra Mountain Company-owned destinations in the United States, they cannot be purchased in person at Blue Mountain and Tremblant in Canada. The easiest way to purchase your pass is at ikonpass.com. All passes ordered online are delivered by mail to the address on file.

Can I use my Ikon Pass even if I didn't receive the Pass card in the mail yet?
You cannot use the Ikon Pass until after you complete the online purchase. However, if you want to ski or ride before you receive the actual Pass card in the mail, you can do so. Visit the destination’s season pass office or ticket window and provide your identification. A lift ticket will be provided for the day.

Can someone else pick up my pass for me?
No, passes will only be issued to the person whose name is on the pass.

If you are a Snowshoe Season Passholder and need to pick up your pass, please visit the Depot which is located outside of Expedition Rentals.

How Do I Attach the Ticket?
Using the zip-tie provided, fasten the lift ticket to a designated lift ticket clip, a zipper of your jacket, or on your ski pants. Place your lift ticket on a visible part of your body, somewhere easily accessible, as you will need to present your ticket for scanning to a lift attendant prior to riding one of our lifts.

You will also notice that our lift tickets have a perforated bar coded section at the bottom of the ticket. Please remove this section and keep it in a safe place. If for some reason, you lose your ticket, you will need this bottom section in order for a new lift ticket to be issued.

What else do I need to know about my lift ticket?
Lift tickets are refundable up to 14 days before the date on the ticket. Within 14 days of the date on the ticket, tickets are non-refundable, non-transferable and are not for resale. Your lift ticket is valid for all three ski areas*, Snowshoe, Silver Creek and Western Territory. This includes night skiing at the Silver Creek area from 4:30pm-9:00pm, when available. Check the snow report for trail openings and hours. Snowshoe lift tickets are valid only for the date(s) indicated on the ticket.

What's the best way to rent ski or snowboarding gear?

With four dedicated rental shops, all offering the latest Head or Salomon skis and Burton Snowboards, Snowshoe has the largest and best equipment rental fleet in the entire Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. We strongly recommend that you make your rental reservations in advance to ensure availability, save money, and hit the slopes faster once you arrive. When you call to reserve your equipment, we just ask you to have the following information ready for everyone in your party who needs rental equipment: Names, Ages, Skis or Snowboard.

Simply bring the pre-printed rental waivers you receive during check in at the Front Desk to the Rental Shop. If you have lessons, it is highly recommended that you visit the rental shop the evening before or at least one hour prior to your scheduled lesson time.

WHAT EQUIPMENT CAN BE RENTED?

Skis, snowboard, boots, poles, and helmets can be rented from any of our rental shops. If you already have your skis/board and just need to rent poles or a helmet, no problem, these items can be rented as part of a package or individually. We do not rent outwear (gloves, pants, jacket, goggles, etc.) but you can find them in any of our retail shops.

WHAT is included in a rental package?
Regular ski and snowboard rental packages include boots, Head BYS skis or a Burton Learn to Ride snowboard, and poles (for skis). Don't forget to add a helmet at check-out.

what tips do you have for driving in winter conditions?
The most important part of winter driving is being prepared. Here are few things you can do ahead of time and some things to keep in mind as you travel:

Whenever possible, drive during the daylight hours for best visibility, and to enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery!

use smooth well-planned movements
Driving in the snow is similar to skiing: smooth, well-planned movements are best in both situations. Brake gently and only when necessary, and use the braking power of your engine by downshifting whenever possible. Accelerate just as gently as you brake.

prepare your vehicle
The nearest auto maintenance station is well off the mountain. Check your battery and engine prior to leaving for your trip (cold temperatures can be hard on both). Be sure that your antifreeze is good to at least 30 degrees below zero. Make sure your tires have good tread. Snow tires are best, but deep tread radials will work in most weather conditions. Snow chains are also invaluable in threatening winter weather. Front wheel drive cars provide better traction, but if you must bring a rear wheel drive vehicle, place something heavy in the back. Fill your windshield washer fluid reservoir with a high test or antifreeze-included solution. Bring a heavy-duty ice scraper and snow brush. Keep a flashlight, snow shovel, and blanket in your car.
What kind of clothing and gear should I pack?
One of the keys to enjoying your time in our winter environment is to make sure that you are fully prepared, and that means having the right clothing. Following is a quick list of how we recommend dressing for our winter weather.

Dress in Layers
Layering keeps you warmer and lets you adjust clothing as the temperatures rise or fall. The layer closest to your skin should be made of a 'wicking' material so that it removes perspiration. Two to three medium weight layers are usually warmer than one bulky garment. The outermost layer should be wind and water resistant. This includes your jacket, pants and gloves. Clothes such as jeans and sweat pants are not suitable as they absorb water, making you cold and wet.

Wear a Helmet
If you choose not to wear a helmet, be sure to wear a hat at all times as most of your body heat escapes from your head. A neck gator is an excellent piece of clothing that keeps cold air from getting on your neck, and it is much less cumbersome than a scarf.

Sunscreen
At our higher elevation, the sun's rays are less filtered. Sun also reflects off the surface of the snow making the rays even more intense. To protect against sunburn you should always wear sunscreen.

Protect Your Eyes
It is important to carry goggles with you at all times - goggles offer protection against the winter elements (snow, ice and wind) and provide you with greater visibility while skiing and snowboarding during tough weather conditions. Goggles also help protect your eyes from the damaging rays of the sun.

Happy Skiers and Riders Have Warm Feet
Cold or uncomfortable feet can ruin a day on the slopes. You will want to wear one pair of ski or snowboard specific socks. Bulky wool socks are a thing of the past, today you can get a wool-blend or synthetic sock that is lightweight yet warm.

Keep Your Hands Warm
Your hands are another important part of your body and are sometimes overlooked. Mittens are warmer than gloves. Lightweight 'driving' gloves will not be adequate. Wool or rag type mittens will get wet and should not be used. It is always a good idea to spend a few extra dollars on a good pair of waterproof gloves.

BIKE RENTALS
Bikes may be rented at The Mountain Adventure Center (The MAC) and include full-face helmets, chest and arm protectors, and knee and shin protectors. If you have your own bike, you may rent these items separately. Full suspension downhill or enduro bikes are required for all lessons. The MAC is also the main mountain bike retailer and much of the recommended riding gear is available for purchase at this location.

THE FOLLOWING CANNOT BE RENTED BUT ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED WHEN RIDING BIKES:

EYE PROTECTION
Glasses or goggles with clear lenses (yellow and light amber can also work well) are best for actual trail riding. It can be dark in the woods.

GLOVES
You should always wear gloves when riding. They should be full fingered and flexible with non-padded palms. Gardening gloves could be an acceptable substitute. Unlike road riding gloves, where the point is to pad the palms, downhill and free-ride gloves have thin palms to ensure a good grip on the handlebars and full fingers to protect the skin from potential impacts.

PANTS
The style is baggie shorts or moto pants, but jeans would also work as long as they allow free movement. Many riders like to wear padded cycling shorts under their shorts. Shorts or pants made of thin fabric (i.e. basketball shorts) don't hold up well to impact and provide little protection. This is also true of cycling shorts worn without an additional layer on top.

SHIRT OR JERSEY
A jersey or tee shirt works just fine. Most people don't like the feel of body armor next to their skin (it's plastic and can be uncomfortable), so a tee shirt or tank top underneath is recommended.

SHOES
Light hiking shoes or boots will work best if you do not have our own downhill or freeride shoes. Skate shoes or running shoes may also work but aren't usually as sturdy. Downhill specific shoes are usually "skate" style but are made of sturdier materials and have stiff soles with a fairly tacky surface for gripping the pedals. Absolutely no sandal style shoes are permitted when riding downhill or freeride.

SOCKS
Whatever works with your shoes is best. Keep in mind that shin guards can be uncomfortable on the skin, especially just above the ankle. Some people wear taller socks for that reason. Socks also tend to get wet (from sweat or the environment), so wicking material is great but not critical.

ADDITIONAL ITEMS
Depending on the weather and your riding plans, it may be good to bring along some snacks, sunscreen, a rain jacket, and a hydration pack or water bottle.
What is there to do at Snowshoe besides hitting the slopes?

Can I have a package shipped to me during my stay?
Of course! One of our busiest times of the year is around the holidays, so sometimes our guests and their friends or family need to ship items to the resort. If you are having a package sent to Snowshoe, be it a holiday gift or anything else, please include the following information on the package:

What is your pet policy?
Pets are members of the family. We get it; we love our fur-babies too. In order to keep them happy while ensuring all Snowshoe visitors are safe and comfortable, we have a few rules we need our pet-toting guests to adhere to. Here's the short version:

Comply with the Pocahontas County Dog Ordinance
This ordinance addresses issues of excessive barking and proper waste disposal among other items. Read the full ordinance here.

Owners must control pets
You are responsible for your pet’s behavior at all times.

keep pets in approved areas
Pets are prohibited from all food and beverage locations, retail shops and rental properties that are not deemed “pet friendly.” Pets are also prohibited from Snowshoe event grounds for the duration of any event that draws a large crowd (including GNCC, Treasure on the Mountain, 4848 Festival and others).

No exotic or dangerous pets
These pets will not be permitted on Snowshoe property.

Timely removal
Snowshoe Mountain reserves the right to require guests to remove their pets from Snowshoe property at any time for any reason it deems necessary.

Service dogs
Service dogs will be accommodated according to applicable laws.

Is there cell service?
Through an ongoing partnership with AT&T and the Green Bank Observatory, we have widened our cell phone coverage to include all of Snowshoe Village, as well as the Shavers Lake area and the Inn at Snowshoe. Plus -- there's more expansion to come through the AT&T 4G network! We hope that other carriers will soon expand to our area as well, and encourage our guests to call their wireless service providers to express an interest in bringing wider coverage to Snowshoe.

IS THERE WI-FI?
FREE high-speed Wi-Fi is offered in each condominium in the following lodging complexes: All Village Complexes, Black Bear Crossing, Camp 4, Corduroy Inn, Creekside, Land’s End, Leatherbark, Logger’s Run, Mountain Crest, Mountain Lodge, Ridgewood, Pedestal House, Powderidge, Shamrock, Silver Creek, Snowcrest, Soaring Eagle, Summit, Tree Top, Top of the World, Wabasso, Whistlepunk and The Inn at Snowshoe. Whistlepunk offers high-speed internet via Ethernet. Public Wi-Fi access points are also available at Starbucks, The Big Top, and throughout the Village.

CAN I MAKE A CALL THROUGH THE WI-FI?
More and more often, the answer to this question is YES! Many devices are now capable of using Wi-Fi to place voice calls, and often it’s free. If you have an iPhone, you’ll need a model 5c or later and can find instructions on how to place your first Wi-Fi call here. Android users should check with their service provider for specific instructions.

CAN I MAKE A PHONE CALL THE "OLD-FASHIONED" WAY?
Yes, all Snowshoe lodging rental units are equipped with a phone. Specific long distance capabilities, fees (local calls are free) and usage instructions vary among lodging complexes. However, through a partnership with CityNet, FREE long distance service is offered in the following lodging complexes: ALL Village Complexes, Black Bear Crossing, Camp 4, Corduroy Inn, Creekside, Land’s End, Leatherbark, Logger’s Run, Mountain Crest, Ridgewood, Shamrock, Snowcrest, Soaring Eagle, Summit, Tree Top, Top of the World and Wabasso. Additional complexes are slated to add complimentary long distance in the near future. For all other complexes, calling cards are required and are available for purchase at Wildcat Provisions, all Front Desk locations, and most retail outlets.
Is there a shuttle?
Yes, and our FREE shuttle system is the best way to navigate the mountain! Bus stops are located across the resort and we also offer a FREE shuttle to and from the Inn during the winter season.

Where should I park?
For the 2024 Summer season, most parking at Snowshoe will be free. This includes the Village lot, Top of the World lots A, C, and D, the Big Top, Silver Creek, and The Inn. Please note that parking may be restricted during large events such as GNCC and 4848.

There is no shuttle from The Inn during summer.

Where do I park if I'm just here for the day?
There is FREE public parking at Silver Creek. Shuttles run from here to Basin and Western Territory.

How can I play it safe on the slopes?
The easiest way to ruin any vacation is with an injury, but with some planning and a few helpful tips, skiing and snowboarding can be enjoyed as safely as possible. Just make sure you follow the tips below.

Stay Fit
All outdoor winter activities require lots of energy - not only to perform the activity, but also to keep warm. Before and during all winter sports, be sure to eat hearty meals and drink plenty of fluids. Avoid drinks with caffeine as they will dehydrate your muscles. Never drink alcohol while participating in snow sports as it makes your muscles and reactions much less responsive.

Be informed
Review and follow the Responsibility Codeand, if you're heading to any of our terrain parks, check out the Freestyle Terrain Safety guidelines.

Wear a Helmet!
Helmets will be required for all children ages 12 and under enrolled in ski/snowboard lessons, and for all guests participating in terrain park lessons.

Anything I should know about lodging slopeside?
In order to guarantee more open terrain than any other ski mountain in the Southeast, we help Mother Nature at every opportunity with our state-of-the-art snowmaking and grooming. Accommodations adjacent to the slopes should expect to experience the sounds of the guns and the grooming machines whenever conditions permit. Complimentary ear plugs are available at all front desk locations.

There is RV and Tent Camping available at the base of the mountain at Snowshoe Campground.

There are two universal charging stations in the Village across Snowshoe Drive from Seneca, two universal charging stations at Top of the World, and two universal charging stations at Silver Creek.
